“My name is Karena Gill and I just finished my 3rd year as a PhD student in Geology at the University of Alabama. Roll Tide! My research there focuses on carbonate rocks and fluid inclusion analysis. I am from Belize 🇧🇿 and as a minority in STEM, I know and appreciate first-hand the importance of groups such as this that service underrepresented groups, so I am more than excited to have this space. I love a good hike and look forward to exploring new places this summer around Alabama.”
